Oat bran contains beta-glucan, a form of soluble fibre, which may help to reduce cholesterol levels. Oat bran has a low glycaemic index (GI), so may help to stabilise blood sugar levels and support weight loss efforts by increasing the sense of fullness after meals and reducing hunger.
